I have painted many subjects in many mediums thanks to my degree in Illustration from Syracuse University. My true motivation to do pet portraits stemmed from my cross country move in early 2011. Moving out of bustling New York City to spacious Denver allowed me to fulfill my dreams of adopting my own dog. Denver is a great city for animal lovers, and the dog culture is palpable, so I decided to combine my love for animals with my love for art. Meeting new dogs is just one of the perks of the job.

While dogs have always held a special place in my heart, I have owned a small menagerie of pets since my childhood, including mice, gerbils, an anole lizard, a hedgehog, and three different cats. I love all animals and would be thrilled to paint anything from a horse to a canary.

My precocious Basenji mix, Indiana, and my regal, black cat, Onyx are two of my biggest inspirations to create pet portraits, along with the unrelenting support of my husband, Jeremy.
